When I first started to do yoga again after several decades of inactivity, I had concerns. Was I too old for yoga to be effective? Would the extra pounds that I had picked up over the years prevent me from doing the moves properly? Was I too stiff to enjoy yoga? Would I be embarrassed to join a yoga class and be surrounded by younger people doing advanced moves? Now that I have been doing yoga for a few months, I have never felt better.

I’ll explain exactly what is in each video in a second, but, first I want to give you a chance to watch Cat’s introduction video. In it she explains how the gentle yoga course is organized and what you can expect. It’s also a great chance to get a feeling for Cat’s personality (I promise that you will fall in love with her like I did!), so please enjoy!
Teeki Hot Pants: "These are amazing. Period. I buy Victoria's Secret leggings/yoga pants that really fade over time, show crotch sweat when I do cardio, lift, or even just wear them on a hot day with flip flops. Just my opinion, but I think the people that say these are overpriced are maybe expecting thicker material?? These come very thin and makes you think, wow - these were $100?? Here's the deal - this is one of the reasons WHY they are $100. They allow you to breathe, you cannot see sweat, and this material is not going to fade in washes, allowing them to last longer, rather than purchasing more leggings that fade and look old quickly. Ultimately saving money! They are stylish on top of that. I do not see that they're see through, but maybe it's because I don't wear full coverage "underware." Let's be honest here, that's just not smart in skin tight leggings, period. Wear a thong, problem solved. Again - I think they're fine. Size: I am 5'8, 160lbs, athletic. I lift weights/daily cardio. I purchased a large and they fit like a glove. Waistband comes to my belly button, and whoever said they sit too low might want to go a size up. They are thin, and another review said the were worried about ripping putting them on. I think they're very durable (another reason they're worth it - thin & durable), but I can understand the comment.

Bring your shoulders, hips, and heels into a straight line (imagine that there is a straight line from your head to heels). Keep your shoulders over your wrists. Engage your abdominals. Press your palms into the ground to engage your triceps and biceps. Press your shoulder blades down the back, and lengthen your sternum forward to keep your chest open. Look toward the front of the mat.
Sometimes you need more than a couple of minutes of stretching. That’s where Yin Yoga, a practice that involves holding poses for long periods of time (usually three to five minutes) comes in. I am so glad you like it and that I was able to give back in some way. I enjoy your site and all your teachers that I have experienced so far. I am enjoying the mat as well, but I managed to put a tear in it, dropped my ipad on it while setting up to practice at home this morning. The name of the video really says it all. Texas-based yogi Adriene Mishler directs you through a series of poses that works the lower body and gets you one step closer to the elusive "yoga booty," all while clearly having a blast. She serves up the sequence with a side of goofiness—you’ll feel like you’re taking class with one of your funnier friends. And laughing totally counts as a workout, right? (via Yoga with Adriene)

Your instructor, Cole Chance, also gives detailed directions (including important reminders to be gentle) that help ensure you’re engaging the right muscles. After 30 minutes’ worth of hurts-so-good poses, you’ll feel more nimble and relaxed. (via Yoga TX)

Lift your right knee up to about hip height and use your right hand to grab your right ankle and place the sole of your foot against your left inner thigh. (If this is too difficult, place your foot below your knee, but never place it directly on your knee. Bring the palms of your hands together in a prayer position and place them in the center of your chest. Look at a non-moving spot on the ground in front of you to help keep your balance. If you feel steady, extend your arms overhead on an inhale.
